In September 2021 we asked you to say how much you had spent on school uniform going into the autumn school term. We also asked you to estimate how much you normally spent on all school costs – such as equipment and materials, travel and trips, food and miscellaneous costs.
With the cost-of-living crisis intensifying it is predicted that the impact of a broad range of school costs on household financial pressures will increase this year. For this reason we are asking again for information on the ‘costs of the school day’.
We are also asking specific questions about how you would like school uniform policies to develop, and how you would like Pupil Premiums* received by each school - for each and every pupil eligible for ‘free school meals’ – to be spent.
There are suggestions that Pupil Premiums, worth thousands of pounds to each school, should be used to subsidise school uniform costs. There are other suggestions also.
