Two Spirit & LGBTQIA+ Communities Engagement Survey for Hamilton Police Service

Hamilton Police Service is seeking to select a facilitator to lead ongoing conversations between police and Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ communities in the City of Hamilton. The Hamilton Police Service has engaged McMaster University as an independent third-party administrator of this survey to ensure that community members feel safe to respond honestly and openly to questions about community engagement with police.

If you are over the age of eighteen and a member of the Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ communities in the City of Hamilton, then you are eligible for this survey.

The relationship between police and the Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ communities has been historically strained and fraught with distrust. Participation in this survey may be triggering, if you choose to continue with this survey, it should be noted that you may feel uncomfortable answering questions or providing information about police relations with vulnerable communities.

This survey is confidential and anonymous. Unless you choose to share this information, you are not required to share any personal information, nor is that information shared with Hamilton Police.

A report summarizing the findings of this survey will be written by the research team and submitted to the Hamilton Police Service, where it will be available for public viewing.
