Michael Smith Park Survey

Michael Smith Park, formerly Batewood Park, has a rich history in Danville. The park historically offered a variety of activities while serving as a cultural hub along Second Street. As time has passed, Michael Smith Park has fallen into disrepair as many of the amenities were removed as they reached the end of their lifecycle. The City of Danville recognizes the park’s value to the community and is in the process of re-energizing the park.
