York 2035 - together we thrive!

The Shire of York is undertaking its major strategic review– a process that happens every four years, in line with requirements of the Department of Local Government, Sporting and Cultural Industries’ Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework.

The major review is one of the Shire’s most significant engagement touchpoints with community and it’s now time to work together to identify the issues that matter the most, and shape our vision for the next 10 years.

Over the next few months, the Shire will develop an inaugural Council Plan, which will replace the current Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan, with one succinct guiding document, with a 10-year horizon.

As the Shire’s most important strategic document, the Council Plan will be referred to by Elected Members and Shire Administration to inform decision making, budget allocations and service provision – so your input is vital to inform what's included.

The initial community engagement period is happening from 22 November to 13 December 2024 and you can be involved by:
  • Completing this survey
  • Joining us at a community ‘think tank’ workshop session on Tuesday 3 December 2024 at York Town Hall.
We will also be engaging with community via established committees, associations and clubs.

Get involved and let us know what the Council Plan should include – from business and town centre vibrancy to environment, arts and culture, recreation, youth and seniors needs – and more!

This survey will take 10 minutes to complete, and we appreciate you making this important time investment.

Be sure to complete the survey before it closes on 13 December 2024.
