We are delighted to announce that the Inter-Agency Standing Committee Reference Group on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings (IASC MHPSS RG) is embarking on the exciting and long-awaited development of a universal MHPSS icon.

The IASC MHPSS RG received several requests from its members and partners to develop this MHPSS icon that can be used across agencies and sectors to enhance visibility, communication and collaboration for MHPSS activities.

To ensure that the icon truly represents the collective voice and needs of the IASC MHPSS RG members and partners at the global, regional, and local levels, we invite you to participate in this short 5-min survey to share your inputs and reflections. 

We would like to offer the whole MHPSS community the opportunity to shape and contribute to this initiative. Upon receiving your feedback, a design agency will carefully consider all the suggestions and create a range of MHPSS icons. These proposed icons will then be shared with the IASC MHPSS RG members, for further feedback and selection.  The final MHPSS icon will be selected by the IASC MHPSS RG members.  Additionally, the IASC MHPSS RG will develop a simplified version of the chosen icon that aligns with the UNOCHA iconography criteria.

We are highly committed to creating an icon that truly represents the essence of the MHPSS work conducted by all of you. We therefore appreciate and encourage your feedback to make this a participatory development.  

This survey may be shared with all MHPSS actors from IASC MHPSS RG member and partner agencies at global, regional and local levels. However, before responding, we kindly ask you to try to coordinate across your agency at your respective level to prevent over-representation from one agency.
