Coping with infant crying information
Normal babies may cry for up to five hours a day, and many parents/ carers feel unprepared for this. This research has been developed by a group of paediatricians across Ireland who are interested in understanding how caregivers in Ireland manage infant crying. This study has been approved by the Children's Health Ireland (CHI) Research Ethics Committee REC Ref: REC-308-23
What will my participation involve?
Please complete the following questionnaire, which has up to 25 optional questions with tick-box responses. You will also be asked two free text questions. The questionnaire is likely to take 5 minutes to complete. Please answer as much as you can, but if you don’t want to answer any of the questions, you can skip them.
Do I have to take part? If you do not want to take part you don’t have to. Deciding not to take part will have no impact on any care you may receive from your health care providers.
Are there any benefits in my taking part? There are no financial or material benefits to taking part in the research, however you may find participating a rewarding experience that will give you the opportunity to share your views.
These findings will be written up as a report to inform health care providers and policymakers about any additional education or support parents/ carers may need. They will also be summarised for presentation or publication within the scientific community.
Who can I contact for further information? Please contact the research co-ordinator, at starprojectire@gmail.com if you have any questions about this research.
