2024 North Inlet-Winyah Bay TOTE: 'CYPRESS TO SALT MARSH'

Workshop dates: Saturday, October 5 & Saturday, October 12, 2024

Explore the headwaters of the Black River at the Black River Cypress Preserve in Andrews and Winyah Bay & North Inlet estuaries at the North Inlet-Winyah Bay Reserve at Hobcaw Barony in Georgetown and learn how you can bring watershed and estuary education into your classrooms! This professional teacher development is free of charge and space is limited. All workshop supplies, food, activities and on-site transportation are provided, and a Certificate for fifteen hours (15) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be provided upon completion of the workshop exit survey.

Requirements:
1) Open to all Georgetown and Williamsburg County educators (formal, informal), all grade levels and subjects.
2) Commitment to 2 day workshop (15 hours CEUs) over two consecutive Saturdays, plus any pre-workshop homework, as well as exit and follow up surveys.
3) Must be able to tolerate some physical activities outdoors for portions of the workshop.
4) Upon completion of the workshop, teachers must develop an action plan to share watershed and estuary education activities with their students.
