Join Us in Building a Safer and Supportive Community
Choices Support Center (Choices) is a community-based organisation that provides support and guidance to individuals struggling with risk behaviours related to drug use and sex, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community, including asylum seekers and status holders.
Choices is developing the Community Cares Afterhours Project. This project is aimed at supporting gay and bisexual men in the Netherlands minimise or eliminate drug use and its associated risky sexual behaviours.
The heart of our initiative lies in launching the Community Cares Afterhours Helpline, a free and anonymous service available in the evenings. Staffed by trained volunteers that will include peer coaches, harm reduction counsellors, substance use treatment workers and mental health professionals from the gay community. Our helpline will offer anonymous counselling, crisis management, referrals to treatment facilities, risk reduction counseling interventions to minimise drug use and its associated risks, and for those who are waiting to enter treatment participation in our treatment readiness interventions.
To get started we kindly ask for your anonymous input to make this initiative truly impactful. All of Choices services are developed by the community for the community.
