Almost everybody knows about climate change. Some people call it global warming. We know the earth is heating up because there are too many of us using up too much stuff. We all need to come up with good ideas to help the earth cool down as quickly as possible.

Here are some questions we have for you. We believe this world belongs to kids, and your ideas, your stories and songs, and your pictures could really help us with ideas of what to do.

We’d like to know what you know about climate change. We’d like to know what you, your family, your school, your friends, and your neighborhood are doing about climate change. We’d really like you to share any ideas you have about what the people of Seattle can do together to help cool the earth.

We want to keep you up to date on what we are doing and want to be able to follow up with you to find out more about your ideas, suggestions, and existing projects. The rest of the questions (2-6) are for kids to answer alone or with an adult helping to read the questions. The first name and age of the child are optional. If they are provided, we may publish their name with their submission.

* 6. e creative! What will houses, stores, and gardens look like if they don’t use much as much energy and other non-renewable resources from the earth? How will people travel around? What about the things a city helps to provide – hospitals, fire trucks, parks, schools, water, lights, streets – what is different about them if they use less energy? You can draw, write, tell a story, and even sing a song with your ideas.
