Would your organisation benefit from support to evaluate its work, so its impact can be better understood and highlighted?

VSNW is offering four voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations in Cheshire and Merseyside the opportunity to apply for our new pilot project, working with a team of economists from Lancaster University and the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

The successful four applicants will receive tailored advice and practical support to develop their evaluation programmes. In return, applicants will share their learnings with wider VCFSE sector organisations by participating in a webinar marking the culmination of the project.

It’s the first time we have ever run a project like this, so as well as giving you the chance to speak with a team of economists, you’ll be helping us test if it would benefit others in the future.

Who should apply and what’s involved?
· You’ll need to have activity data as well as outcome data that contributes to your commissioner’s, or funder’s goals. For example, if your intervention (Activity A) aims to improve a specific outcome (Outcome B), you would need to have data on Activity A and Outcome B. It doesn’t matter what your specific activities are and what outcomes they are aiming to improve as this training can benefit organisations working in any area.

· You are willing to share your dataset, or a sample of it, to receive tailored support.

· You’ll be able to commit at least four hours across two sessions:

Friday 25 April 2025 (10am – 12pm) – an initial meeting to discuss your project and identify the support you need to carry out your evaluation

Friday 30 May 2025 (10am – 12 pm) – a webinar open to all VCFSE organisations in Cheshire and Merseyside, covering general methods for effective evaluation, and where your project and initial findings may be presented as a case study.

How do I apply?
· You’ll need to complete the accompanying application form, so the team can determine if your programme or service would benefit from the type of support they can offer.

· We’ll assess applications for their suitability on a first come, first served basis.

· If you’re one of the four successful organisations, you’ll be welcome to involve up to three members of your team in the project

· Deadline for applications is Monday 31 March 2025
