Youth Leadership Award
The Summerland Youth Leadership Award is purposed to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements and dedication of the youth in our community who have made a significant contribution to their local or global community and who show initiative, enthusiasm, commitment with a positive attitude.
Nominate an Exceptional Youth Do you know an exceptional young person who is working hard to make life better for themselves, their peers, or the community? Maybe they've overcome personal challenges or obstacles or maybe they've made a significant achievement in academics, sports, or music, or maybe they're doing volunteer work to help make Summerland a better place to live, work, or play.
Who is Eligible? Nominees must be between the ages of 14 and 21 and must reside in Summerland. Nominees should have completed some of their volunteer work or community contributions within Summerland.
We are asking you to nominate the youth in our community by filling out the nomination form. Nominations must be received no later than 4:30pm, January 31, 2023. All nominations will be reviewed through an adjudication process by an independent panel.
Supporting Documents For additional consideration by the selection committee, all nominations should be accompanied by 2 or 3 letters of reference. Please refrain from submitting original photographs or documents; if submitted they will not be returned. The selection committee will consider all nominations.
The Youth Leadership Award will be awarded at the Summerland Business Excellence and Community Awards Gala on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Centre Stage Theatre.
