The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC) is preparing an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) for Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry Counties. TCRPC has received funding for preparation of the plan from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the PA Department of Transportation.
An Active Transportation Plan can be defined as a guide to increasing the connectivity of our communities by designating facilities and opportunities that make it easy for people to switch between cars, pedestrian (walking), bikes, and buses.
The ATP will also aim to educate municipal leaders toward a complete understanding of the many benefits of a regional Active Transportation Plan in order to gain municipal and citizen support for this important, sustainable initiative.
The TCRPC work on the ATP began in February 2023 and will run until approximately March of 2024.
