Lab Research Capabilities for Geothermal

This form collects information about laboratory capacities for geothermal research. The information gathered will be used to create a public database of laboratories working on next-generation geothermal and superhot rock research. From modeling to tool development and beyond, there's much work to be done to advance superhot rock, and this database aims to help in that work.

Answers to the questions below will be directly fed into the database. Once the database is published, labs will be able to update their entry if circumstances change. Please submit only one form response per laboratory. If you represent multiple labs, please fill out a separate form for each lab. For this project, we define a lab to include government, commercial, and nonprofit (e.g. university) labs that offer contracts for lab work. If you work at an organization that does not offer contracts for lab work, this survey is not intended for you.

This database is a project of the Superhot Rock Energy team at Clean Air Task Force (CATF). CATF is a global nonprofit organization working on low-carbon energy technologies. Learn more about our work at https://www.catf.us/work/superhot-rock.

If you have questions about this project, please contact Ann Garth, Senior Geothermal Associate at CATF (agarth@catf.us).
1.What is the name of your lab?(Required.)
2.Where is your lab located? (country, state/province, city)(Required.)
3.What does your lab currently research? Please select all that apply.(Required.)
4.What does your lab plan to research in the next few years? Please select all that apply.(Required.)
5.What technologies (including bench-scale, in-field, and/or software) do you have available for geothermal research?(Required.)
6.Are there any limitations on your work (e.g., required cost-share, only able to work with companies in certain countries, only a certain number of external partnerships allowed per year, etc.)?
7.Is there anything else you would like to add?
8.Who should geothermal companies contact if they are interested in a research partnership with your lab? Include name, title, email, and phone number. Alternately, you can share a link to a contact page on your website.(Required.)
9.What other labs have you partnered with for geothermal research? (Answers to this question will not be shared publicly.)
