Maximum project funding: $5,000
15th November: Facebook announcement of the grant and the Theme of the Year
15th December: Deadline for grant applications
Notification to Applicants: Within 10 weeks of Council Ordinary Meeting
February 2025: Distribution of goods to schools and community groups.

* 8. PROJECT OVERVIEW: RECYCLING PRACTICES

Starting December 2024, Mount Isa will introduce a new 240L yellow recycling bin to help reduce landfill waste and create a valuable recycling stream.

Recycling offers many benefits, including lowering QLD Levy costs, which will save the community money over time. It also extends the lifespan of our local landfill, reducing the need for costly expansions and minimizing environmental impact.
