Loxwood Medical Practice: Consultation on Change to Practice Boundary

Boundary Map
We are currently considering an application to reduce our practice boundary. Work is now underway at the new Dunsfold Park development, with 1800 houses planned to complete over the next few years.
Loxwood Medical Practice is currently obliged to accept new patients registering from this development. We are proposing a reduction in our boundary to remove Dunsfold Park for the following reasons:
1. We do not have the physical space at the practice to accommodate the staff needed to provide care to this number of additional patients
2. Our community nursing, palliative care and mental health services are based in Pulborough, Midhurst and Chichester. They are unable to provide domiciliary care to a group of patients who live so far from where they are based.
We are concerned that the needs of patients living in Dunsfold Park, and their access to care will be jeopardised by being registered with a West Sussex GP. If they are registered with a Surrey GP, their community care will be based at Cranleigh and Milford.
We would not ask current patients living in the area affected by the proposed boundary change to leave the practice.
