CRITERIA
Connect Mobile is a leadership development program that provides up-and-coming leaders the opportunity to develop new skills and acquire the resources necessary to engage with their community. It is designed to inform, engage and increase awareness of issues through interaction with community leaders. It also provides class members an opportunity for applied leadership through the project phase. Members are selected based on the following criteria:
• High standards of personal integrity;
• Sincere and strong desire to increase community involvement;
• Commitment necessary of the time and effort to complete the program; and
• Representation from a cross-section of the population.
While applications are confidential, Mobile United may use the information submitted by class members in printed materials. To assist in selecting a class that reflects the diversity of the community, applicants are asked - but not required - to specify their gender, race and/or ethnicity.
ATTENDANCE
Check your calendar prior to applying. Compare the following dates to your calendar to ensure no known conflicts exist prior to applying. Please reserve these dates until you are informed of your application status in April. Participants must be present at the Opening Retreat and Project Presentation day in order to graduate.
Everyone is expected to attend all events; however up to two excused session absences are permitted.
PLEASE NOTE: Any participant who has an unexcused absence, misses the Opening Retreat, Presentation Day, or is absent for more than two functions will be dropped from the program and will not graduate with their classmates.
