Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy 2025-2030
The Alcohol & Other Drug Consumer & Community Coalition (AODCCC) Consultation Survey
About us:
The AODCCC is the Peak Body for alcohol and other drug consumer-driven systemic advocacy in Western Australia. Our aim is to empower the voices of consumers, their families and supports, ensuring the health and wellbeing of our community.
With more than 750 members onboard, the AODCCC is a conduit for individuals and families with living & lived experience of alcohol and other drugs to have their voice heard and make a difference in Western Australia. The knowledge, insights and expertise of lived & living experience is integral not only to the work of the AODCCC but also to communities all over Western Australia.
We believe the AODCCC has a role in promoting a culture of engagement with consumers and their families in an active and meaningful way. We understand the need for destigmatising alcohol and other drug use and base our work on our own experiences and those who share their stories with us.
About this survey: The West Australian State Government has committed to the development of a new system-wide strategy to improve leadership, collaboration and coordination of mental health and alcohol and other drugs systems. The Mental Health Commission has developed a discussion paper to gather feedback responses. This will be used to shape how the State Government understands what the community wants from alcohol and other drug service systems, what is needed within the system and what should be prioritised to achieve the best outcomes for all Western Australians over the next five years.
Please note that this survey will focus on the alcohol and other drug aspects of the Strategy only.
We acknowledge the strong connection with mental health and other significant intersecting priorities and if you wish to convey your thoughts and concerns to any of those area of the Strategy, we invite you to participate in the numerous specialised consultations available through the Mental Health Commission website.
