Thank you for your interest in a AROHE Board Directors and/or Officer position for the upcoming term effective January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2026. Members of active AROHE retirement rrganizations and individual members of AROHE are eligible to be considered for these vacancies.

In addition to the online application, all nominees will be asked to submit a letter of interest (limit one page) and a curriculum vitae or resume by the nomination deadline of Friday, September 20.

Open board positions include president-elect, secretary, treasurer and director-at-large. The following provides a general overview of current vacancies available:

President-elect - The President-elect, in the absence or disability of the President, will perform all the duties of the President and, when so acting, will have all the powers of, and be subject to, all the restrictions upon the President. In case of resignation or death of the President, the President-elect becomes President for the unexpired term. The President-elect may have other powers or duties as approved by the Board.

Secretary - The Secretary will keep, or ensure the keeping of, a record of minutes of all meetings of the Board, with the date, time, and place of the meeting, the notice given, the names of those present, and the proceedings. The Secretary will give, or ensure the giving of, notice of all meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee. The Secretary will keep, or ensure the keeping of, an original or a copy of the Association's Bylaws, as amended to date. The Secretary temporarily assumes the position of President if neither the President nor President-elect is able to function, and may have other powers or perform other duties as approved by the Board.

Treasurer - The Treasurer will keep and maintain, or ensure the keeping and maintaining of, correct accounts of the properties and business transactions of the Association. The Treasurer will deposit all monies and other valuables in the name and to the credit of the Association with such depositaries determined by the Board. The Treasurer will disburse the funds of the Association as directed by the Board. The Treasurer will render to any Director, as reasonably requested, an account of all transactions as Treasurer and of the financial condition of the Association. The Board may designate a person, who need not be a member of the Board, to serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the Association. In the absence of such a designation, the Treasurer will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the Association. The Treasurer may have other powers or duties as approved by the Board.

Directors-At-Large - The AROHE Board of Directors provides strategic direction and support to the organization. Comprised of innovative and forward-thinking leaders with expertise in facilitating retiree engagement, the board helps to ensure that AROHE furthers its goal of transforming retirement in higher education. Directors-at-Large will prepare for and participate in monthly board meetings, serve on at least one additional committee, participate in board discussions and vote on matters that come before the board.
