NG9-1-1 Institute
NOMINATIONS FOR 911 HONOR AWARD RECIPIENTS

Every Spring the NG9-1-1 Institute hosts the Annual 911 Honor Awards Reception in D.C. to honor the heroes, individual leaders, and outstanding groups / organizations of the 911 / public safety / emergency response community from across the United States for their achievements in the prior year. The award categories are; Citizen in Action, Government Leader, Public Safety Professional, Industry Professional, Outstanding Call Center, NG911 Awareness, and "Other" [descriptions below].

The Co-Chairs of the Congressional NextGen 911 Caucus, other Members of Congress, our Sponsors and members, and federal, state, members of the press, and local government leaders are invited to attend, share in the celebration, and to present these awards.

In the past we solicited nominations during only a narrow time window. Now, to make the process easier and more inclusive, the nomination window is permanently open. You are encouraged to submit nominations at any time (note: there is an annual deadline, usually in December, for nominations that will be recognized at the "next" awards ceremony - please follow our social media for updated information - @ng911institute).

Only takes 10-minutes to complete the basic nomination form. However, we receive multiple nominations in each category and there is normally only one (1) annual recipient per category. Thus, the more information you can provide that distinguishes your nominee (ex., descriptions, press articles, other information, etc.) the better for your application. Many applicants find it helpful to gather such information before beginning the nomination process. You can "cut and paste" pre-written information into the nomination form. The nomination form permits you to attach up to five (5) documents to your nomination.

Both self and third-party nominations are welcome, and you do not need to be an NG9-1-1 Institute member, nor does the nominee, to nominate or receive an award. Awardee need not be present to receive an award. No costs to make a nomination or be an award recipient.

Instructions:

1) Only a single nomination may be submitted in only one of the awards categories described below. Please note the "other" category.

2) If you wish to make multiple nominations, after making your first nomination, you can return to the nomination link on the NG9-1-1 Institute webpage and make a new nomination for a different Nominee.

3) Actions / service that are eligible for nomination may have taken place (as a single action/event or multiple actions/events) anytime during the year up to the published annual deadline, with the relevant award ceremony being the next Spring.

4) The Nomination Form and attachments form the information source used to evaluate nominees. The quality of information is generally more important than quantity of information. However, all relevant additional information submitted is welcome, including press coverage where appropriate.

5) In addition to completing the questions on the Nomination Form, you can attach documents.
