The Town of Osoyoos recognizes that there is a shortage in licensed childcare spaces. In the past, the Province supported communities in increasing childcare spaces through funding programs, but Osoyoos missed out on funding opportunities because it didn't have an official Childcare Action Plan.

To address this, the Town Council has hired Cornerstone Planning Group to produce a childcare needs assessment that aims to understand what services are needed and develop a plan to meet these needs. The goal is to secure future funding from both the provincial and federal governments and create a plan to tackle the shortage of childcare spaces. This assessment will plan for inclusive, flexible, culturally sensitive, and high-quality childcare services for all children in Osoyoos.
