Context
The West Beach Parks Sport and Recreation Precinct forms part of the broader West Beach Parks precinct, which encompasses the Holiday Park, The Retreat, West Parks Golf, Skate Park and Reserves, Marina, Road Safety Centre, and the soon to open Village Square. It also forms a key part of our overarching West Beach Parks Master Plan which aims to provide better access and connectivity across entire West Beach Parks precinct. In turn, delivering long-term economic, social and environmental benefits to the wider community, and becoming a more desirable place to live, work and play.

West Beach Parks Sport and Recreation Precinct Master Plan
West Beach Parks is developing a master plan for the West Beach Parks Sports and Recreation Precinct. It will guide any future upgrades and developments within the West Beach Parks Sports and Recreation Precinct over the next 5-10 years.

West Beach Parks is one of Adelaide’s pre-eminent sporting precincts and is home to a range of sports including soccer, lacrosse, tennis, netball, golf, baseball and softball. It is also used extensively for sporting events with regular SAPSASSA and other sporting activities conducted on the site.

West Beach Parks Sport and Recreation Precinct is also enjoyed by the local community as a neighbourhood park for exercising, walking the dog and having a kick of the footy.

There is an opportunity to develop a Sport and Recreation Master Plan for the precinct which will guide upgrades and developments over the next 5-10 years.

The Master Plan will consider:

- Connections – paths and internal roadways
- Universal change rooms to cater for the increasing popularity of women and girls sports
- Wayfinding
- Parking
- Beautification
- Branding options
- Future compatible uses of the precinct
- Built form
