Waterbury Housing Survey
The City of Waterbury has begun the development of an Affordable Housing Plan, per the requirements outlined in Connecticut Statute 8-30j. To better inform the plan’s development, we ask that residents of Waterbury complete this survey on the current housing situation and their personal experiences in the City. Following the final question of the survey, residents are asked to enter their contact information if they would like to receive updates on the plan and next steps following this survey. We thank you for your help with this effort!
This survey uses the term “Affordable Housing,” defined by the State of Connecticut as a dwelling that:
1. costs less than thirty percent of the income of a household earning eighty percent of the Area’s Median Income; and
2. has been deed restricted to ensure that the housing unit will remain Affordable for a period of forty years; or
3. ownership units that are currently financed by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) or the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
