The Village of Lucas currently contracts with the Richland County Sheriff’s department for policing services. Over the last 10 years financing concerns have made it necessary to reduce the hours of service. In those 10 years, we have had to decrease the hours from over 1,000 a year to the current 300 hours. The cost of this service is slightly over $14,000 a year.
