Since 2006, the Watershed Stewardship Grant (WSG) Program, made possible through the Government of Alberta’s Water for Life Strategy, has provided funding to the province’s stewardship community to support their grassroots efforts and community-based projects that contributed to ensuring:
  • A safe, secure drinking water supply,
  • Healthy aquatic ecosystems, and
  • Reliable, quality water supplies for a sustainable economy.
Land Stewardship Centre's Board of Directors is currently seeking additional individuals to serve on its Watershed Stewardship Grant (WSG) Review Committee.

The purpose of the WSG Review Committee is to review grant applications (in a specified grant round), allocate funding to eligible applicants and provide knowledge and support to WSG recipients as required.

This is a volunteer position and committee members are appointed for a three-year term. At a minimum, committee members must be prepared to commit time and effort to reviewing eligible applications and participating in the grant application review meeting to select grant recipients for a specified grant round. From time to time, committee members may be asked to participate in additional meetings in support of the WSG Program.

Qualified individuals representing non-government organizations, First Nations and Metis communities, industry, Watershed Planning and Advisory Councils, watershed stewardship groups and government agencies from across Alberta are invited to apply.

The deadline for applications is December 15, 2024. Successful applicants will be contacted by email.
