Robert St. Spring 2024 Survey

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is tentatively scheduled to make improvements to Robert St. in 2027. The project will repair or replace the roadway pavement, replace sidewalks, improve safety, and will be coordinated with other infrastructure work planned along the corridor such as utility replacement and transit improvements.

According to the Saint Paul Transportation Safety Action Plan, Robert St. is the only “High Injury Corridor” in the West Side Neighborhood. We’ve heard that the community wants safety improvements on this road. Online survey results from 2020 show 73% of people feel pedestrian safety should be improved on Robert St.

As we develop the engineering designs, we are focusing on creating a safer Robert St. for everyone – whether walking, bicycling, rolling, using transit or driving. There are several ways we can solve these safety challenges, but some changes require trade-offs. We want input from community members like you on what you’d like to see on Robert St.
