2025 Wisconsin Chapter Company of the Year Award
About
The ESOP Company of the Year is a company that has a commitment to employee ownership, as evidenced by its involvement with The ESOP Association and its programs, as evidenced by its communications with employees, and as evidenced by its commitment to the Vision of The ESOP Association that endorses employee participation, wealth creation, and individual dignity and worth. The company should be financially solvent, and should have history as an established ESOP. It is not necessary that the company have any one style of management, such as "work teams", "TQM", "employee committees", etc.; but overall there is an understanding that, by some manner, the majority of employees feel a sense of ownership, and/or that the ESOP is important to the company and all individuals in the company.
This award will be presented to an ESOP Company for its demonstrated commitment to employee ownership and its success in maximizing the benefits of the ESOP, regardless of company size. All companies that submit a nomination for this award should plan to attend the Chapter Conference where awards are announced.
Answer the following questions in 3,000 words or less (cumulative for all four question areas). Provide details and whenever possible give specific examples. It is recommended that you develop a response with word processing software and then copy/paste into this form.
• How has the value of the ESOP been maximized for the benefit of the employee owners?
• How are the employee owners made to feel, act, and respond like the owners they are? How has this resulted in the increased productivity and profitability of the Company?
• Has the Company been active in the Chapter or national level of The ESOP Association? Is the company active in the local Chamber of Commerce or other business groups?
• What does the Company do to promote the ESOP concept to the general community where it is located? What has the Company done to educate elected officials about ESOPs?
