In alignment with the community-led initiatives that created the 2014 Master Plan Design for Walnut Creek Wetland Park, the City's goal is to create a garden space designed to provide access to fresh produce and help raise awareness about food deserts, provide food and garden-related programming, and create a model for food production and distribution.

Located along Little Rock Greenway and across the street from the Norman and Betty Camp Education Center, this parcel has already had its first installation of edible landscaping: Raleigh’s first Community Food Forest (public orchard).

The purpose of this engagement process is to gain a clearer understanding from the community on how we can meet these goals while designing a space that enhances the community’s sense of belonging.
