With WCNA 38 behind us, it is now time for the World Board to look toward the future. Rising costs on nearly every front and in every part of the world push us to consider what is possible, practical, and prudent going forward. It is no surprise that the pandemic created many enduring changes. These challenges can also be opportunities—if we understand and meet them wisely.

At WSC 2023 the conference supported a motion presented by the World Board to suspend the world convention rotation policy so they could consider the sustainability of WCNA in the current climate. This motion (Motion #8) passed with 87% consensus support. The motion read, “As a result of the COVID pandemic, to suspend the World Convention of NA (WCNA) rotation policy after 2024, to allow the World Board to determine what is possible and practical moving forward and then seek approval from conference participants.”

Now, the World Board would like to get more perspective from the Fellowship. We need your input. In their discussions and decisions, the World Board must consider what factors lead our members to decide why they attend or choose not to attend WCNA. The conversation will expand to include conference participants as we develop concrete suggestions based on what we have learned.

Thank you for helping us hear the voice of the Fellowship.
