Thank you for your interest in serving on the Council of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

Before starting the application, all new candidates should complete the online RCDSO Orientation Training: Council/Non-Council Committee Positions module. It has information about eligibility, duties/expectations and the mandate of the College's Council and committees, which will be helpful to you before you start this application. All new Council candidates must complete the module by September 20, 2024 at 4:00pm to be eligible.

The process to become a candidate in the 2024 Council election includes completing the following:
  • Application and Eligibility Questions;
  • Declaration Form;
  • Council Skills Matrix Questionnaire;
  • Council Competency-based Questions;
  • Committee Skills Matrix Questionnaire;
  • Chair Skills Matrix Questionnaire;
  • Diversity Self-Identification (voluntary); and
  • Upload your curriculum vitae, a written candidate statement and a headshot (voluntary), and list your social media platforms.
This application will take between 45-60 minutes to complete. If you leave the form and return to it later on the same device using the same IP address, your progress will be saved.

You must submit this application by Friday, September 20, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. to be eligible to run for election.

All new candidates' competence to stand for election must first be considered by the Governance Committee and its decision will be communicated to you in writing on or before October 25, 2024.

The Governance Committee may review the application form, and any supporting materials as part of the competency-based assessment process. This process includes a brief virtual interview with a panel of the Governance Committee. This does not apply to candidates already approved by the Eligibility Review Committee. If you become a Council member, the information contained in the application form, and any other supporting materials may also be considered by the Governance Committee to help inform committee and chair appointments.
