It's time to vote for the business leaders in Whatcom County! Who left an indelible imprint on the business and economic landscape in Whatcom County during 2024? Who has done that over a lifetime career as a Whatcom business leader?
Continuing a tradition of 38 years, Whatcom Business Alliance and Business Pulse magazine will stage the annual Whatcom Business Awards 'Black & Gold Gala' in March 2025. This is the longest-standing award in northwest Washington, recognizing excellence in business achievement. Criteria for the nominations:
Business Person of the Year—Any leader in Whatcom County from a business or organization, who represents business success and community impact.

Lifetime Achievement Award—Any person representing long-time contributions to business success and community prosperity in Whatcom County.
Small Business of the Year—Any successful business (not a person) with fewer than 100 employees.
Start-Up of the Year—Any business (not a person). Must have opened for business on or after January 1, 2023.
Jon Strong Employee of the Year—A full-time employee in Whatcom County who shows consistent integrity, commitment, professionalism and teamwork. Someone who goes above and beyond in their job and community. Named after long-time WBA employee, Jon Strong (1947 - 2019).
