Survey on the Impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 on Sex Work and Sex Workers Lives in Kenya |
Sponsored by the Kenya Sex Workers Alliance
Dear community,
As you are all aware, the coronavirus 2019 (COVID 19) is the biggest human tragedy in 2020, affecting hundreds of thousands of people globally. The number of COVID 19 cases in Kenya are also rising daily. The disease has an enormous impact on the economy. However, its impact on sex work and sex workers' socio-economic, livelihoods, and access to health services including HIV and STI prevention and treatment services remains unknown. Sex workers level of knowledge and perception about COVID 19 is also unknown.
This survey aims to assess the impact of COVID 19 on sex work and sex workers' lives and the knowledge and perceptions about COVID-19 among sex workers in Kenya. We are asking sex workers to complete this 7-minute survey to enable us understand how our community members are impacted by the disease and determine how to offer the best support you during the outbreak of COVID 19.
Your help in responding to this survey will prove vital for us and will allow us to address the unique issues facing all of us in Kenya.
Individual sex workers and leaders of sex worker-led organizations are urged to respond to this survey as soon as possible.
Thank you to the many sex workers who have already taken the time to complete this. Please feel free to share amongst your networks.
