VISION ZERO for Rural & Island Communities
Help Make Our Streets Safer!
More than 42,000 are killed in traffic crashes in the United States every year. For this reason, a growing number of communities are committing to Vision Zero: a strategy to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
Achieving this goal, however, requires more than just setting a target. That's why the Greater Portland Council of Governments is launching a Vision Zero Action Plan for the rural and island communities in our region. Grounded in input from community members like you, the plan will identify safety priorities and outline actionable strategies to make our roads safer.
