Vermont Professional Learning Network Statewide System in Support of EQS Project |
VT Collaborative Learning Groups
The Vermont Agency of Education is pleased to announce the next phase of work for the Personalized Learning Network (PLN). Our PLN is designed to be a statewide system to address the needs for a coordinated, cohesive and consistent approach to professional learning across the state, with an emphasis on geographic equity and comparable quality.
In the next phase of this work, we will work with the Center for Collaborative Education (CCE) to design professional learning and products that build capacity within Vermont supervisory unions to put PBL into practice through instructional practices, flexible pathways and local comprehensive assessment systems. CCE will work with principals, curriculum coordinators, instructional coaches and other school leaders to:
*Identify opportunities and challenges implementing PBL in schools and districts;
*Create collaborative learning groups to exchange promising and/or proven practices;
*Provide tools and strategies to support implementation of PBL;
*Facilitate multi-day professional learning events with national PBL experts; and
*Develop a series of online, self-paced courses that will be available to all Vermont practitioners.

Collaborative Learning Groups are organizing now! In order to provide flexibility, we are organizing by region. We will hold kick-off meetings for southern locations on October 25 and 26. Participants in the north will begin meeting November 2 and 3. Individual participants will choose which event to attend; however, we strongly encourage school and district teams to attend the same kick-off date. The total cost to participate in Collaborative Learning Groups is $200 per person and includes four face-to-face meeting days, virtual meeting time, the showcase event and venue costs.
