This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

The Clark County climate project team is seeking community input to help plan for climate change through a series of activities throughout the year. Right now, the project team is focused on identifying priorities to reduce greenhouse gas pollution (or emissions), improve air quality, and improve our community’s health and environment.

Washington State requires Clark County to identify actions it will take over the next 20-years in the unincorporated county (areas outside of cities) to address climate change. This includes a requirement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions produced by local activities. (Several cities in the county are also working on similar projects to address greenhouse gas pollution within their boundaries.) While the county’s work is focused on what we can do locally, climate change is a global challenge and there is additional climate work being done regionally, across the country and globe.

We invite you to:

1. Learn about the major sources of greenhouse gas emissions in unincorporated Clark County. Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat in the atmosphere. These gases are helpful in making planet Earth warm and supporting people, plants, and animals. However, too much of these gases from pollution can have significant negative impacts.

2. Learn about air quality in unincorporated Clark County.

3. Share your thoughts on how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality in our community.

The climate project team, made up of county staff, consultants, and advisory groups, will use this information to inform the next phase of the planning process: developing a list of actions the county can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, and reduce the impacts from climate change.

Your answers are anonymous (we don’t know who you are). Your participation is voluntary. You may choose to skip questions. Your participation provides valuable feedback to help shape future community plans.
