This survey is the next step in the development of a tool for virtual services in NA and will be available until 1 March 2025. The survey goes through the outline, section by section and asks for input.

The outline was created by reviewing material from locally created resources, input from Fellowship discussions, and the many questions World Services has been asked about virtual service. This tool is intended to focus on service outside of an NA group. Guidance for group level service can be found in Virtual Meeting Basics.

The finished tool could include guidance for virtual groups participating in the service system, service bodies that meet virtually or are hybrid, or services and events that are provided virtually. If you have experience in any type of virtual service, we encourage you to share your ideas here. You are welcome to complete the survey as an individual member, or with others in a group or service event setting.

Each section of this survey focuses on the topics that the tool will cover, along with the main points for each of them. Think of these as section headings in the finished tool. Please share any practical experience you have by typing it under each topic. We have included the option to add more topics if you think there is something else the tool needs to cover.

Please read the draft outline of the tool before completing this survey!

  • What guidance is needed for including virtual groups as part of geographic service bodies? Some may be a better fit than others – it may take time for a group to find the right service body.
  • What services can virtual groups help to provide? This might include virtual outreach, virtual H&I panels, and what else?
  • Relationship between virtual groups and in-person groups in the same community.

Virtual Fund Flow
We are drafting a separate piece of material about this topic as this seems like an issue for all service bodies, not just those that function virtually.
