This training initiative aims to equip early-career circus and physical theatre (CaPT) riggers with circus-specific experience and skills.

TNA is providing six days of on-the-job paid rigging training to four early-career riggers during this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival, supported by Melbourne Fringe and Circus Oz.

Training will take place during the bump-in and bump-out of Circus Oz's Melbourne Fringe Circus Hub in Collingwood:
  • Bump-in: 16th-18th September
  • Bump-out: 28th-30th October

Successful applicants will be shadowing experienced rigger Christian Schooneveldt-Reid, learning on the job about rigging for circus. Trainees will be paid a casual wage* plus superannuation.

Eligible applicants will be assessed by a panel who have rigging expertise and sector knowledge, and will be selected on their future rigging aspirations and connection to the CaPT industry.

Trainees should be available for both the bump-in and bump-out dates.

*Trainee wages will be paid above the LPA training rate, at the rate of LPA Production & Support Staff casual level five ($35.03ph).
