Our goal is to lift people out of poverty and bring millions of dollars back into our community - and you can help!
The Pierce County Asset Building Coalition needs volunteers for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. VITA helps working and low-income individuals and families save money through FREE tax preparation. By helping tax filers obtain their tax refunds and credits, you can help families put food on the table, pay bills, and save for the future.
Here are some ways you can serve:
TAX PREPARER: Provide high quality, ethical tax return preparation for eligible taxpayers.
QUALITY REVIEWER: Provide quality review of all returns completed by Tax Preparers to ensure that tax returns are error-free.
SCREENER/GREETER: Welcome all customers to the site and ensure they have the information and documents needed to complete a tax return.
INTERPRETER: Provide interpreter services to non-English speaking and hearing-impaired customers at tax sites.

-Free Tax Training and Certification
-No Risk to Tax Preparer (IRS Approved)
-Flexible hours including Weeknights and Weekends
-Convenient locations throughout Pierce County
-A Site Coordinator is always present to help with questions or issues
