Application Instructions

PURPOSE
This scholarship is awarded to a pediatric care and education specialist or exercise physiologist. 
SCHOLARSHIP
The recipient receives complimentary registration to the ADCES Annual Conference and up to $1,000 in travel related expenses.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Be a current ADCES member for at least two (2) years at time of submission
  • Applicants must be a diabetes care and education specialist in pediatrics or have experience/interest in exercise physiology
  • Applicants are only eligible for a scholarship once every three (3) years
  • Invited speakers are not eligible for scholarships
        CRITERIA
        • Applicants for the Julie Betschart Scholarship may be nominated by a peer/colleague or by self-nomination.
        • Applicants must be a current ADCES member for at least two (2) years.
        • Recipient agrees to submit a post-event testimonial (written, recorded or videotaped) as requested in accordance with the timeline established.
          APPLICATION PROCESS

          CV or Resume

          Attach a document listing and describing examples of diabetes care and education related volunteer work (local and national) that you have been involved with over the last calendar year (January - December). Include committee work, task forces, presentations, projects, authorship, participation in National Diabetes Education Week, and leadership roles. Activities must be voluntary and unpaid. Include Local ADCES affiliate Coordinating Body or Local Networking Group activities, ADCES national activities, and non-ADCES diabetes activities.

          Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by March 3, 2025. All applications must be complete to be considered. Please provide as much detail as possible in your answers. Applications demonstrating thoughtful, detailed responses tend to yield more favorable results.           I also understand that, if selected and I fail to respond to the deadlines for submitting the necessary information to process the registration scholarship, I will forfeit receipt of the scholarship. Staff will provide the important deadlines upon receipt and notifications.
