Introduction

You are invited to participate in a study of the relationship between familiarity with/consumption of Korean popular culture and music, and culturally-based perspectives and behaviours. The purpose of the study is to determine how, or whether, consumption of non-Western media has substantial effect on attitudes beyond the musical sphere.

The study is being conducted by Dr Sarah Keith, (02) 9850 2179, sarah.keith@mq.edu.au, Lecturer in the Department of Media, Music, Communication and Cultural Studies at Macquarie University.

This questionnaire contains 34 questions over 6 pages and will take an estimated 20 minutes to complete. Participation in this study is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time. Responses are confidential and no personally identifying information is required; however, you may choose to provide your e-mail address at the conclusion of the survey if you wish to be informed about project outcomes, or if you wish to participate in an interview related to this project.

The ethics of this survey and study have been approved by the Macquarie University Human Research Ethics Committee, no. 5201600525.

This project “Korean popular music and (multi)cultural understanding” is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia-Korea Foundation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
