A. ULAs work requires a commitment of 5-7 hours a week.
B. ULAs duties vary by course but in general an LA is expected to:
  • Attend lectures.
  • Adequately prepare for answering questions from students about the lecture material
  • Grade lecture assignments determined by faculty instructor
  • Facilitate in-class activities
  • Be available one week prior to the beginning of classes for ULA meeting with instructor
  • Register in TLTC333 Academic Peer Mentoring (1 credit). This course will provide the fundamental skills to support lecture activities (for new ULAs only)
  • Register for 1 credit course (BSCI279T, section TBD or TLTC399). This one credit course is designed to give credit to ULA for time spent with faculty helping inside and outside the classroom.
