Question Title

* 1. Purpose of Research: This study involves research and its overall goal is to investigate students beliefs about the intersection of race and gender in engineering. The specific purpose of this phase of the study is to understand from the student perspective about how their gender or race has impacted their experiences during their engineering education. The second phase of the research will involve individual interviews with women in engineering.

This survey consists of two open-ended, short answer questions, and a series of closed-end responses. The survey should take 20-25 minutes to complete.

Risks and Benefits: The risks associated with participating in this research are minimal and there are no known benefits to participants.

Confidentiality: This survey collects identifiable characteristics including your student identification number, major and gender. Your identity, and that of any individuals who you mention, will be kept confidential at all times. All data will be kept on a secure website. It is possible that the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Cincinnati will view this study’s collected data for auditing purposes. The IRB is responsible for overseeing the protection of human subjects who are involved in research.

Consent and Withdrawal of Consent: Your participation in this research is entirely voluntary.
