UCLA MMUF WRTP Application 2025

This is the application for the summer 2025 UCLA Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) Writing and Research Training Program.

The 2025 UCLA MMUF Writing and Research Training Program will run in an in-person format that will require all participating students to reside on the UCLA campus for the entirety of the 6-week program. The program is six weeks: Sunday, June 22, 2025 – Saturday, August 2, 2025. Housing for participants is provided. Students can expect about 15-20 hours of required class and program activities per week, in addition to assignments to progress their research and writing outside of class.

Applications will be assessed in two rounds. Rising second-year Mellon fellows must submit their applications by March 14, 2025. Rising first-year Mellon fellows—those who have recently been accepted into MMUF, are on the waitlist, or have recently submitted their application at their home institution—must submit their applications by April 7, 2025. Students will be informed of their application status by the end of April 2025.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible, as limited spots remain in the program. We will also be contacting the coordinator of your home institution to confirm your standing in their MMUF program. It is your responsibility to follow up with your coordinator to make sure that they complete the coordinator's recommendation form.
