Consultation on the Preston City Council Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy |
On 6th November 2024, the Taxi and Miscellaneous Committee gave approval for the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Community and Wellbeing to carry out a consultation exercise, for an eight-week period, seeking views on the current Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy ahead of a planned review in the New Year. This will be a five-stage process as follows: -
Stage One
Go out to the licensed trade and the travelling public asking what works well, what doesn’t and how can the Policy be improved.
Stage Two
Collate and review the consultation responses and draft a reviewed Policy.
Stage Three
Consultation to commence on the reviewed Policy.
Stage Four
Collate and review the consultation responses, present the reviewed Policy for recommendations from the Sub-Committee prior to adoption at Cabinet.
Stage Five
Policy adoption
This is the first stage of the process, and your views are being sought on the sections and appendices of the current policy. This part of the consultation is open from Friday November 15th 2024 to Sunday January 12th 2025.
Please read through the relevant sections of the policy (links are provided in titles of the questions below) and provide your views.
The only mandatory question is question 1. You should only complete a response to the other questions if you have comments on that section of the policy that you would like us to consider. If you have no comments, then please leave the box empty / blank.
