The Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC) is accepting applications for short-term technical assistance designed to help probation agencies enhance staff recruitment, retention, and well-being. This competitive opportunity is funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and administered by the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP).
Up to five (5) probation agencies will be selected to receive technical assistance. Each agency will be expected to:
- Form a local working group to improve their staff recruitment, retention, or wellness policies or practices
- Gather and analyze the agency’s relevant staffing data
- Use data-driven insights to identify policy and practice changes for improving staff recruitment, retention, or wellness
- Recommend and refine policy or practice changes to meet the agency’s needs
- Create a work plan to guide the implementation of the agreed-upon policy or practice changes
The CSRC and each agency will agree on the respective period of short-term technical assistance. Additionally, three representatives from each agency must attend a cross-site convening in Fall 2024. The CSRC will cover travel expenses. Each agency must also commit to participating in a follow-up assessment of the assistance received.
