Introduction

Thank you for providing feedback on the first ever boating season on the Great Falls of the Catawba. The feedback you provide us will help inform American Whitewater and our partners on how paddlers are using the river, and if there are ways we can improve the recreational opportunities over time.
 
American Whitewater has worked with excellent partners for over 20 years to restore flows and access to the Great Falls of the Catawba River. Releases began this year following an intensive period of trail building, channel building, and access area construction. Each fall we'll meet with Duke Energy and other key partners, and would like to bring this group feedback and opinions from the paddling community on how we may be able to optimize the management of this new recreational opportunity.
