In Winter 2024, residents in Cheektowaga’s Pine Hill and Town Park neighborhoods approached GObike with concerns about that unsafe roadway conditions in their neighborhoods. Over the following months, GObike worked with neighbors to rethink those roadways through the lens of Complete Streets - or streets that have been rethought and redesigned to accommodate everyone - including bicyclists, pedestrians, drivers, transit users, and people of all ages and abilities.
This engagement culminated in designs for a pilot project that reimagines the area as a more welcoming atmosphere for people to walk and bike, with the ultimate goal of connecting residents to everyday destinations like Cheektowaga Town Park, and to neighborhood businesses.
Now that GObike’s pilot project has been implemented in the Pine Hill and Town Park neighborhoods, we're seeking your input to about how the changes have affected your transportation habits in the area, and if they have improved your ability to travel safely around Cheektowaga.
This project was made possible by partnership with Erie1 BOCES through the NYS Department of Health’s Creating Healthy Schools & Communities program, and through active collaboration with the Town of Cheektowaga and Town Park Community Association.
