* a.    TRE Helpdesk. The primary focus of the TRE Helpdesk is to support stakeholders in the evidence ecosystem on: (i) training on incorporating TRE within the research life cycle; (ii) training in protection of human subjects; (iii) study registration on 3ie’s RIDIE and other relevant registries; (iv) pre-analysis plan (PAP) or protocol templates, review and publication; and (v) adherence to standardized reporting and citation requirements for publications and comparison to pre-specified analysis plans.

* b.    TRE Data Center (general). The primary focus of the TRE Data Center is to support stakeholders in the evidence ecosystem on: (i) defining who has access to what data; when and how that data may, or may not, be shared through Data Management Plans and/or Data Sharing Agreements; (ii) establishment of secure data transfer and storage practices; (iii) review and application of data de-identification protocols to mitigate re-identification risk and adhere to promises of confidentiality; (iv) integration of independent push-button replication (PBR) protocols into analysis workflow to improve computational reproducibility; and  (v) data sharing on the 3ie Dataverse, or other data sharing platforms.

The primary focus of the TRE Review is to support stakeholders in the evidence ecosystem with: (i) strengthening the informed consent review, pilot, and implementation process to ensure appropriate engagement with research participants on key issues related to research purpose, risk, benefits, and data-sharing practices; (ii) assessing and navigating local, journal, funder requirements for Institutional Review Board (IRB) review; (iii) conducting independent review of TRE practices to assess research design, implementation, and dissemination for alignment with ethical principles; and (iv) ensure alignment between promises of confidentiality and the data de-identification and sharing practices.
