In 2022, state legislation (House Bill 2612) was passed establishing a Trauma Recovery Center (TRC) fund. The bill requires the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) to work with partners to establish the priorities for the fund, and further requires ADHS to utilize these funds to provide funds to establish two pilot TRC sites - the first of their kind in Arizona.
The TRC model of care was established in 2001 by the University of California San Francisco Trauma Recovery Center. The TRC model promotes survivor-centered healing and removes barriers to care for underserved survivors of violent crime. A TRC is an evidence-based model of care that provides comprehensive services to crime survivors, including mental health and crisis intervention, as well as assistance in navigating legal and health systems.
As part of the planning process for these pilot sites, ADHS is conducting an environmental scan of trauma recovery services in Arizona. This brief survey will help us better understand existing programs and gaps in services for survivors of violent crime, potential opportunities or barriers, and key stakeholders to engage in the TRC planning process.
Thank you for taking time to complete this survey, and please feel free to share the survey link with any of your relevant partners!
