Adverse Impact Of Title II Net Neutrality Rules On Your Businesses

Thank you for your continued support of WISPA!  As many of you have already heard, the FCC has adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would reinstate heavy-handed Title II net neutrality rules and treat broadband internet access service as a common carriage service.  A link to the NPRM can be found here.  https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC-23-87A1.pdf

In addition to opposing these unnecessary rules, WISPA will strongly urge the FCC to not impose those rules on smaller broadband providers.  In fact, WISPA’s advocacy has already persuaded one Commissioner to caution that “[w]e must make sure that net neutrality rules do not place an undue burden on these smaller providers while still upholding the core principles of an open Internet.”  Your responses to the attached survey will enable us to make fact-based arguments to inform the record and help influence the Commissioners that the proposed rules are ill-suited for WISPA’s members.  Many of the questions ask how your company's experiences have changed since 2018, because that is when the FCC abandoned Title II common carriage rules for broadband service.

So, please take the time to carefully review and respond to the survey by November 16.  Only one member of your company should complete the survey.  All survey results will be aggregated and anonymized such that your company’s information will not be made public.  Thank you.
