Written reflection
We are seeking written reflections on the experiences of parents during the lockdown period, including lessons learned and opportunities presented by this significant change to usual educational practice.
Your reflections can be as long or short as you want and do not need to be polished pieces of writing. They do not need to address all of the areas listed below.
We are interested to capture the experiences and perspectives of parents in the following areas:
The model of distance/online learning your child was engaged with, including parental expectations (e.g. synchronous class video calls using Zoom plus asynchronous activities utilising Google classrooms)
The educational/teaching practices that you think have worked well and those that have not worked so well during the period of distance learning
How your child has engaged with and responded to the shift to distance and online learning
The important school and teaching practices that were lost or not well-supported in the online/distance environment
Whether your perspectives of schools, learning or teachers have changed over the lockdown period
The lessons learned, changes to practice, or new ideas that have emerged over the lockdown period that you are keen to continue when schools return to “normal”
